What we do...

Our concert band, consist of over 50 musicians who are members of various instrument sections within the concert band which includes woodwinds (flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone), brass (trumpets, French horns, trombones, euphoniums, tuba), and a percussion (tympani, snare and bass drum, cymbals, chimes, and xylophone). Concert band music comes from a rich resource of concert band composes and arrangers with early transcriptions from classic music to current march and concert music written exclusively for concert band musical formats.

The Anchorage Community Concert Band’s performance schedule is divided between fall and spring concerts scheduled at East High School.

Formal concerts are presented to the community in the May and December of each year. Additional performances are scheduled at various shopping malls in the Anchorage area. Additionally, a summer concert is performed in June or July at the Saturday Market (an open air market scheduled throughout the summer months which attracts locals and the many tourists and visitors to the Anchorage area.

Preparation for these scheduled concerts includes a weekly rehearsal throughout each fall and spring semester. Rehearsals are planned each Tuesday night at the Romig Junior High band classroom from 7-9 pm.
